Two-year-olds are likely to:

  • Show awareness of gender identity (she’ll tell you she’s a girl.)
  • Help to dress and undress themselves (and obviously their dolls!)
  • Begin self-evaluation and develop notions of themselves as good, bad, attractive, etc. (“ehh so nice! cantik!”)
  • Defend their possessions (she’s more willing to share with other girls than boys, other than her brother – girl power, yo.)
  • Begin to play house (evidence as seen below.)
  • Use objects symbolically in play (how often have i fake-eaten her dishes of ‘eeken and rice’?)
  • Know gender identity
  • well, we’re right on track, then.

from primping girl to domestic goddess!
