my parents, they aren’t exactly, ahem, the wild party animals that you think they are. (hurhur.) what more with abang aniq and me in the picture, they will take whatever morsels of ‘excitement’ that come their way, even if it’s a small party at a friend’s house, with greasy home-delivered fast food and a cringe-worthy countdown show on tv.

coz taking care of us at home alone is hard work, you know. so whenever an opportunity for a celebration presents itself, they’ll jump at it.

mmm, bubblies...
we babies work very hard too… bottoms up!

i was snoozing when 2009 arrived, but i believe abang aniq and all disturbed my slumber with loud poopers poppers and blowers and silly string.

then they played some games called ‘charades’ and ‘truth or dare’, and thank gawd i can’t talk yet, coz they’d have to pay me to keep my mouth shut for the things they said and did! ;p

charades!

abang aniq and i may have been kept out till late more than once because of my parents, ahem, ‘irresponsible’ behaviour, but one day – maybe not in 2009, seeing that i’ll probably be busy with other more important things – one day, i’ll try to remember to thank them for showing us that it’s okay to have fun, despite having little children to run and clean up after.

that it’s possible to still be themselves, despite being old farts.

that it’s important to surround themselves with what makes them happy, not just family, but invaluable friends who open up their homes, arms and hearts to you.

i’m too young to have a new year’s resolution (unless you can count growing more hair as a resolution?), but i’d say – here’s to another year of great celebrations, mum & dad and all my lovely aunties and uncles! :D

cheers,
auni h.

wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend (APAD)

we were just crossing the road towards bugis junction when i sighted a man on top of the shophouses.

i was really inspired by the movie “yes man” as i clicked away. i really dunno what the uncle was doing on top of the shophouse, hopefully not contemplating on ending his life, maybe just checking out the babes crossing the road :)

anyway, the song by third eye blind, jumper, is really appropriate.

I’m selling my underutilized digital camera. Very good budget digicam for beginners dabbling in videography.

The Panasonic SDR-H40 is a hard disk drive-based, ultra-compact camcorder.

buy me!!

Features include

  • 42x optical zoom, more powerful than some similarly priced camcorders
  • Optical stabilization, which is better than electronic image stabilization

  • Very light, around 350g!!

Will include additional original panasonic battery which cost $100 plus 4gb SD card. Box and the cables plus the instruction manuals are all in.

Bought in July 08, so still got more than 6 months warranty. Now selling at $599, revised to $500. it was retailing at $799 when I bought it

every year, at this time of the month, people around the world make commitments that they are supposed to achieve during the year. many, like me prefer to make and break them, in maybe just a week. so in 2008, i didn’t make any. anyway, this year seems like a good year to kick start a hobby which has been laying dormant for the longest time while i’ve been busy, well, doing nothing in particular.

so, starting today, i’m going to post a picture daily, nothing fancy, just things that catch my attention during the day. i will make it a point to photograph everyday for 365 days!! there will be a short narration or comment of where I took the picture, with what camera and settings that I took. feel free to critic the picture. hopefully, by doing this, i would renew my enthusiasm for photo taking and also justify the cost of purchasing my dslr camera :)
