so, what do you think? i’m trying out a new way (well, not really new lah) to process my pictures. i just love the effect of High Dynamic Range and its rather easy if you got the software. :)

basically, its the process of tone mapping 3 or more identical pictures with 3 different exposures. from the very bright to the very dark. just load them up in the software and wait for it to generate. you still need to manually set the contrast and brightness of the pictures. but i can assure you, the result is simply breathtaking! check out some of my hdr pictures here.

just for your info, the software that i’m using is photomatix and photoshop cs3.

well, excuse me, i still got lots of pictures to hdr! hehe!

    nice one!
not sure how u get the diff exposures, but the right way is the ‘bracketing’ where u have 3 diff exposures in 1 snap
    under – correct – over exposures ..
(i’m telling this just in case you got it the other way)

a singaporean; fotobyimran.com shoot have nice HDR collection

yes dedicool, bracketing is the correct method but i did the alternative way since i don’t really got any pics in that mode. i just use one of my RAW picture, save it in 3 different exposures and wah lah! hdr! maybe for my next outdoor shoot i will try to use the bracketing function on my camera. :)

switkid thanks! its rather easy, anyone can do it, just like anyone can play the guitar =)

Hi Izad! Good attempt on HDR. Agree with dedicool that you need 3 diff exposures. But I am guessing you directly adjust the pictures to get the 3 exposures? In future you can try to capture the 3 diff exposures with your cam. There’s a function for it if I am not wrong. Am newbie to this too. Hubby is really into this HDR thingy. You can check out his works but it’s all via facebook lah.
