finally had kak maya come over to give me a good kneading, in the hope of eliminating, or at least alleviating the windy discomforts i’ve been suffering the past many weeks. i had reached my limit with the perpetual stomach discomforts, the bloatedness and burpiness of it all.
i was so glad she came, coz it’s SO hard to get her! pre-natal massage is definitely less painful than post-natal, much more gentler and pleasant, coz i’m not exactly a fan of massages in general. even the lotions she uses are pleasant-smelling and mild. of all the massages i’ve been to (not that there’s many to judge from), hers is the only one i trust not to give me a body ache afterwards.
she showed me certain points along the legs that’s not supposed to be massaged too firmly during pregnancy as it may cause miscarriage. that’s certainly scary. she noticed the many bruises on my legs (i have fine capillaries that break too easily – i don’t even know when i’ve bruised myself most of the time) – i seriously need to do something to improve my blood circulation. :S
and as she massaged my buttock on the right side, she said that the baby’s lying on a nerve. hmph. i’d told her i couldn’t sleep on my back coz i’d feel breathless, and sometimes i lie on my front coz i needed my stomach pressed on to stop feeling the discomfort, which she advised me not to do anymore.
not even born and the baby’s already gotten on my nerve! tsk. :p
the best part of the massage was the stomach, which i’d been waiting, dying, for. she kneaded the hard, bloated part and tapped on it – “macam watermelon”, she said in amusement, as we heard the hollow sounds of trapped air.
i felt a little better the next day, though the discomfort is still there, especially when i’m hungry or had just eaten. and the yukky tastes in my mouth after i’d eaten anything is STILL there even though i’m supposed to be enjoying my food now that i’m in my second tri.
i took up a pre-natal package with her, so this will be a friday evening thing for the next ten weeks.
more reason to look forward to fridays then!
