where’s the best place to spend your sunday morning? well, for me, other than my bed, it was sungei buloh or more precisely the sungei buloh wetland reserve. my shutterbuddy, jeremy, invited me to join him in his little expedition to discover places to shoot ever since he got his DSLR camera :)
i was more than happy to join him as i needed the practice to improve my phototaking skills. armed with my trusty olympus e500, we met around 8am at the sungei buloh carpark.
the weather was just right for some birdwatching as the area is well-known for its many species of birds. jeremy was really ‘armed’ for the occasion, with his SLIK tripod and zoom lens, he was really enthusiastic about shooting some birds. well, for me, i was just armed with my 35mm macro lens, contented with shooting some insects or bugs since spider-man fever is still in the air ;)
although our main aim was to photograph the birds, strangely, there wasn’t any outstanding fowl in sight, just the token stork or two. perhaps it was their day off, being a sunday. but at least we managed to capture some interesting creatures.
since it was my first time there, i was really amazed to see many like-minded people willing to spend their sunday morning in the jungle! maybe, its the fresh air or the scenery, one thing for sure, its a good place to escape from the bustling noise of the city. just don’t forget to bring your mosquito repellent!
